Welcome, New Patients,
I’m honored to partner with you in your wellness journey. Below is what to expect as you prepare for your first visit.
What to Expect Before Your First Visit
Care here is grounded in a primary care foundation, enhanced by a whole-body, functional, and integrative approach. Appointments are designed to be thoughtful, comprehensive, and collaborative — allowing space to understand the full picture of your health.
How Care Works at Olea Functional Health
Olea Functional Health provides primary care services with a root-cause, integrative lens for women, children, and families.
Care may include:
Preventive and primary care services
Comprehensive health history and symptom review
Functional and lifestyle-based assessment
Lab evaluation and interpretation when appropriate
Personalized recommendations for nutrition, lifestyle, supplements, and medications when clinically indicated
Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, care is designed to support how the body functions as a whole — honoring the connection between body, mind, soul, and family systems.
This practice is a good fit for patients who:
Want a primary care provider who looks beyond surface-level symptoms
Are seeking root-cause understanding and personalized care
Value education and shared decision-making
Are open to integrative and lifestyle-based strategies alongside conventional medicine
Understand that meaningful healing often takes time and consistency
Important Care Boundaries
To ensure safe and effective care, please note:
Olea Functional Health does not provide emergency or urgent care services
Patients with acute or life-threatening concerns should seek immediate emergency care
Crisis mental health services are not provided within this practice
Primary care services are provided within the scope of licensure and in accordance with state and federal regulations.
New Patient Process
-
After booking, you’ll receive digital intake forms through the patient portal. Please complete these at least 24 hours before your visit so I can review your history thoroughly.
-
You may upload them directly to the portal for review. If you don’t have recent labs, that’s okay — labs can be ordered as needed.
-
If you’re scheduling a virtual visit, make sure you have a quiet space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera.
-
If you scheduled an in-home appointment, please ensure a tidy space where we can sit comfortably and complete the evaluation. If there are any pets in the home, please put them away if they are aggressive or would be distracting to the visit. Service animals are welcome.
-
Your first visit is a comprehensive appointment focused on understanding your health history, current concerns, and goals. Together, we’ll determine next steps and whether ongoing care is appropriate.
-
If ongoing care is established, follow-up visits, preventive care, and individualized recommendations will be scheduled as needed.
Policies & Payment Information
-
Olea Functional Health does not bill insurance directly. This allows for longer visits, personalized care, and treatment flexibility. FSA/HSA cards are accepted. Contact for pricing.
-
If you are part of a Christian health-sharing ministry or reimbursement-based program, documentation can be provided to support reimbursement when applicable. Please check with your ministry for their requirements.
-
Payment is due at the time of scheduling your appointment.
-
When clinically appropriate, care at Olea Functional Health may include laboratory testing, imaging, and/or nutritional supplements as part of a personalized care plan.
Laboratory Testing & Imaging
Lab work and imaging are billed separately through third-party providers.
Patients may choose to complete labs and testing through their insurance when coverage is available.
For patients paying out of pocket, or for tests not typically covered by insurance, Olea Functional Health offers access to third-party laboratory providers at discounted self-pay rates.
Testing recommendations are individualized, and options will be reviewed together to support informed decision-making.
Supplements
Nutritional supplements may be recommended as part of an integrative care plan when appropriate.
Patients have the option to purchase supplements through Olea Functional Health’s professional dispensaries, including Fullscript and Thorne, which provide practitioner-only formulations and discounted pricing.
Use of these dispensaries is optional. Patients are not required to purchase supplements through Olea Functional Health and may choose alternative sources if preferred.
All recommendations are made with respect for patient choice, transparency, and clinical appropriateness.
